(38) springlawn nature walk
The nature walk is only 700m one-way, however, what would normally take and hour to and hour and a half, could very well take much longer. The reason for this is the sheer diversity of bird life that can be encountered along the way. In the wet season, when the lagoon is full, an amazing array of waterfowl and other wildlife can be observed. In the dryer season it is the time of the predatory birds feeding on land-bound wildlife. The nature walk starts at the Visitor Centre and a raised boardwalk carries you through a paper bark swamp forest to the lagoon. There is a bird hide situated along the way, ideal for you to rest and perhaps take some photographs. The nature walk is graded Level 2 and it is suitable for people of all fitness levels. As always, clothes should be suited to the weather and sun protection should be used. Park entry fees DO APPLY. These may be purchased from the Narawntapu National Park Visitor Centre during business hours. Outside these hours visitors can self-register. NO pets, firearms or bicycles are permitted.
